Inspired by her early life experiences, Dr. Vazirian grew up to be a compassionate individual and found her passion early-on in medicine. She was involved in path-breaking research that received awards and media coverage by American Academy of Neurology. Her research culminated in publications and a book chapter authored by her. Her diverse experiences since her childhood until now, including her Global Health work with the United Nations, impart her the empathy needed to be a compassionate neurologist.

Nerve Conduction Test
This test is done to measure a patient’s electrical impulse as it moves through the nerve. It can also be done to identify nerve damage. Usually, during the test, electrode patches are attached to your skin as your nerve gets stimulated.

EMG
Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure to assess the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them (motor neurons). EMG results can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.

EEG
At Neurology & Neurotherapeutics Center we proudly provide routine and long-term ambulatory video EEG monitoring. EEG test detects the abnormalities in the electrical activity of your brain or in your brain waves. The procedure includes attachment of electrodes, made up of small metal discs and thin wires, onto your scalp. These electrodes will detect little amount of electrical charges as a result of the activity of your brain cells.

Skin Punch Biopsy – Small Fiber Neuropathy
Since Neurology & Neurotherapeutics Center opened, our patients have depended on us to provide them with the most up-to-date diagnostic procedures. One of these is the skin punch biopsy, a diagnostic test done to detect small fiber neuropathy. Small fiber neuropathy is a disease and its symptoms include numbness, tingling (pins and needles sensation), and pain.

Botox Injections
Since its introduction, Botox has become an accepted treatment of chronic migraines when other standard treatments have failed. It helps patients feel and function well. Botox treatments are often covered by health insurance plans.

Trigger Point Injections
Trigger points are the painful “knots” in your muscles that form when a muscle cannot relax. A trigger point injection can help soothe pain, especially in your neck. It can be used to treat tension headaches and myofascial pain as well.

Occipital Nerve Block
This procedure involves injection of steroids and pain-relieving medication into your lesser and greater occipital nerves. It's primarily used as a treatment for chronic migraines and occipital neuralgia.

Dr always spends time to make sure I understand my careProvidence Patient
Excellent doctor! I am a senior and I have several doctors and she is by far the best. She takes her time and explains everything to me. not one of those doctors that watch their watch and run you out the door. I wish she was my only doctor.Providence Patient

Dr Varzarin is excellentProvidence Patient
She took my TIA occurrence serious and scheduled further tests. She discussed how these tests would inform her about where in my brain the incident occurred. I appreciated the time she took to educate me about TIA. She eliminated one medication and added another one. I left the appointment with confidence that I was learning about my medical condition and the treatment plan she envisioned for me. I felt she zeroed in on my case. I have confidence in her skills as my physician.Providence Patient

I went to see Dr. Sarah Vazirian for a neurological problem .I just knew how the visit was going to be . You know how the doctor barely allows you to tell them why you’re seeing them in the first place . Dr. Vazirian was the complete opposite. She came in and write away she truly wanted to know what was going on . She not only addressed my problem but she helped me out with another problem I’ve been struggling with .Stephanie Williams

The things you worry about after you have a stroke. There are a lot of concerns but one of them was not the care I was getting from Dr. Vazirian. She was the first to diagnose the type of stroke I had and knew exactly the symptoms and what was to come for me in the days ahead. Her bedside manner is exactly what I need to relieve me of any concerns which might be unnecessary. I love her as a matter of fact questions and her willingness to seek positive results.Wright Adaza
My primary care physician recommended Dr. Samra Vazirian earlier this year for a problem with instability. She came up with several possibilities and tests to validate them, an MRI for spinal stenosis came back with significant degradation. She was very proactive in also recommending a cervical MRI since I was going to see a surgeon. I that MRI showed that I also had significant issues with my neck that were considered dangerous, which I did not have any knowledge of.Bob in LA
My family has been in Dr. Vazirian’s care for two years. The friendliness, efficiency, approachability and compassion of her and the clinic staff are very impressive. She is the first doctor we’ve met that has helped my family member through serious health issues immensely, and her care is the reason for the improvement. We’re very grateful to her and her staff.carson CHEN
